I have found the place if you are looking for a walk down Key West Memory Lane. You need to stop by Key West Dream Collection, 613 Simonton Street. This eclectic consignment shop is the creation of two long time Key West residents. Located across the street from the new Old Town Fire Department and the new city parking lot, in the previous location of the Conch Republic Consulate.
When you first step inside the store, there is so much to take in! Described as local people, “Keeping Key West Alive” in a city that is changing constantly. One of the favorite consignors is a local lobsterman who is also a zealot collector of historic Key West photo negatives and documents. He reuses his lobster/stone crab traps to build frames for the pieces. The collection includes World War II Navy Flyer planes, the Flagler Railroad, plus Ernest Hemingway photographs. There are vintage maps of the Keys and even Jimmy Buffet posters and albums with vinyl enclosed.
Did you know, Purr Fitt, the Most Comfortable Toe Rings in the World, previously on Duval then Petronia Street, a Key West favorite for 20 years, moved into Key West Dream Collection? The rings are full round and are fitted to your toe and toe style. A Key West Treasure, you can have the choice of genuine silver or gold with or without Gem Stones. Looking for Mary Spears famous Key West sea sponge painted clothing? They have it.
They offer PURE Haven Essentials, safe, non-toxic personal care and home care products, and provide the business opportunity to anyone who wants to spread the important message to get rid of harmful chemicals in everyday products currently on the market.
The most important thing the ladies from Key West Dream Collection want you to know is our continued mutual effort with the Key West Women’s Club Operation Smile Fundraiser. Operation Smile fixes cleft palates for children internationally.
In support of this wonderful charity, after the yearly Women’s Club Treasure Hunt sale is completed, a bulk of the better brand clothing is consigned and sold year round through the Key West Dream Collection to keep the effort going.
Join the celebration at the store: Open House and Wine Tasting, Customer Appreciation Event Wednesday, April 13, from 5-8pm.
This is a must see/do when in Old Town. Just know Simonton Street is alive and well for shopping!
