There’s a new place in town for all your shipping needs and so much more. Samantha Gonzalez opened Conch Mail Depot on June 22nd of 2015. “I wanted my own business and figured there was a need for what we offer,” she says. Gonzalez is a Conch with a notable family, her mother is Toni Tarracino, daughter of Capt. Tony – she’s the friendly concierge at Marriott Beachside. Samantha is mother to two high schoolers and married to Tony whose mother owns Southernmost Deli and Ana’s Cafe. They love Key West, “It’s beautiful, I love the trees, the flowers, it’s paradise to me,” Says Samantha with a warm smile.
They have a lot to offer in a relatively small space: ATM, postal service, UPS, FedEx, Lotto, bill payments, money orders, copies, faxing. Gonzalez explains, “We are everyone’s little secretary.” As people come in and ask for things they add them. “We are getting passport photo machines soon,” she adds. They also sell items like Sun Pass, cigarettes, video games, headsets, XBOX and PlayStation counsels and more. Samantha’s paintings line the walls and are quick to sell. Conch Mail Depot also has mailboxes and they make house keys.
Mojo, their eight year old Chihuahua, is their mascot. With his little Conch Depot muscle tee, he’s perhaps the reason so many customers need to “mail” something. “Our customers are awesome, we are starting to develop friendships with them,” says Samantha. They are also very conveniently located around the corner from Sandy’s. Grab some Cuban coffee, do laundry and take care of business.
The family legacy continues at 1119 Virginia Street at White. They are open Monday through Friday 9am-6pm and Saturday 9am-3pm (closed Sunday). They accept credit cards and parking is free.
