For over 23 years Joel and Donna Nelson have been bringing joy and inspiration to the young minds of Key West through the creation of ‘The Imagination Station’. When they first opened their business in 1992 it was the only Toy Store in our Island community. But more than simply a Toy Store the ‘Imagination Station’ is an emporium of exploration and discovery.
As Donna explains, “Great minds start with Great Toys” and the Imagination Station offers toys that encourage creativity and learning. Beyond the fare of digital gadgetry, the Imagination Station promotes traditional toys that inspire children to play and explore hands on, whilst learning valuable skills. Rather than ‘tuning out’ these games and toys engage and inspire young minds.
Independently owned and operated since its inception the Imagination Station is able to maintain traditional values that encourage strong principles for children to carry into their lives. Customer service is always paramount, and the ability to browse and play with toys gives a personal feel that is a major plus when determining the right toy for a child.
The Imagination Station carries a wide variety of creative toys including everything from traditional puzzles, board games, kites, stuffed animals, and building blocks, to telescopes, party favors, costumes, puppets, dolls, and an amazing line of science related toys such as the My First line. Designed to spark creativity and education these toys include the My First Dino Kit-Science Kit-Pirate Treasure Kit-Gags and Pranks Kit, destined to offer hours of fun.
The Imagination Station puts emphasis on quality toys that last, and being green friendly it promotes toys that educate about recycling, like turning plastic bottles into rocket ships or race cars. They also sell books made from recycled materials and card books, greeting cards that are actually small books that cost as much as the average card.
